So exciting! Learn about the proper file and directory permissions needed to keep your WordPress website safe. You’re looking for 755 for directories and 644 for files, for the most part. This week I did a security audit for a new client and found his host had used permissions that leaves his site wide open to file edits, additions or removals. Scary stuff, and easily preventable.
WordPress 4.6 was released this week and it includes some small but nice changes to the plugin and theme pages. Now when you install a plugin or theme, you stay on the very same page for both the installation and activation. Not a big deal, but a good streamlining of the process. Another handy change – when you use the link button WordPress will now check to make sure your link is correctly written.
